Hi,
i just dropped by here, on word from a friend. would definitely like to come down to a meeting some time, but I'm not greatly into any of the games listed. does anyone play any of the Total War games, or something like TASpring? i also play Day of Defeat Source a lot, never quite got into Counter Strike though.
cheers

Sup Buddy.
Nah unfortunately we don't really play the Total War games OR DoD much.
But that doesn't mean there wouldn't be other games you'd enjoy playing with all of us.
We will be playing Battlefield 2, Live for Speed, Sourceforts, UT etc...
Should definitely be something you'd enjoy anyhow.
What else do you like playing?

There are a few people around who play the TW games that I've seen, myself included. I'd certainly be up for a bash - either RTW [which I'd need to get] or MTW.

I can give you RTW+Barb, I don't play them anymore. Nice, now I don't feel so bad for taking your PSU :)

w00t, total war!
I play Medeval 2 a fair bit these days, not the most amazing at it but I managed to fend off a humungous 400-man army with no more than a single squad of peasants (managed to take out their leader, and miraculously 'won').
I never knew of TASpring's existence, I am currently downloading it and will probably be playing it at the next LAN :)

A little off topic perhaps but are there any major Mods played at the lan??
At my local lan at home we played Air Buccaneers, a Mod for UT2004.
Its a total rework where you play medieval-esque characters, with a musket, black powder, rockety/flare thing and cutlass. Then theres airships to fly around and shoot down using the on board cannons or board and take over.
Its pretty much a flying piracy mod but gives everyone a legitimate excuse for yelling "Yarr" and "Avast Ye" and the like, and was very popular back home.
Just wondering if anyone was interested?

Think we might have done that one once. Pretty much the only mod we play consistently is half life: sourceforts.

And Counter-Strike!

If you get Strings to announce it during one of the tournaments, then do for it.
I'll try anything pirate-y once, just for the joy of shouting Arrr. :)
Is this the same mod as "pirates vs. something?" for HL2?
Ninjas? Vikings?

Well, why don't we play the one that won that competition? Red Orchestra, I know the boys Exuus, Uuuurgh and Pixie all got my back for this game.
