Hi all!
Posting to let you all know that we are now affiliated with KustomPCs (http://www.kustompcs.co.uk)! Graeme from Kustom will be LANing with us at the next event in March and has very kindly offered to donate a few small items for us to use as prizes at the LAN.
He has also offered to deliver any order from KustomPCs to the LAN with no delivery charge. There's a delivery option on the site for Pause Gaming. Just add items to the basket on www.kustompcs.co.uk (http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/) and then checkout, with the invoice location box set to 'Pickup at Pause Gaming LAN, Glasgow'. The site will then ask for your name / address / contact details, and the following page offers payment options. Use worldpay debit/credit card to pay online, or choose 'I will pay in the shop' to raise the order but to pay in cash at the event.
KustomPCs have a great range of stuff and stock a lot of cool products that I haven't seen elsewhere. So have a look at see if there's anything you fancy!
No doubt Graeme will pop in the forums fairly soon and introduce himself a bit.

It's probably best to use that term loosely, my skills aren't what they used to be. :)
Anyway, hello to you all - we've already been working with a few other LAN events, so we're pleased to be supporting another event that's close to home for us.
For anyone not immediately familar with Kustom - we're a retailer from Ayr that offers a wide range of kit for the enthusiast user. Aside from the regular range of hardware, you guys may want a quick look through our 'LAN Shop' http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/acatalog/LAN_Shop.html which lists a selection of products we feel are most relevant to gamers. We do our best to present the website neatly, showing multiple images of products and making comparisons easy with table layouts. There's a few gaming peripheral related articles in there too , including mouse and mat compatability charts.
Echoing Sid's post above - if you're looking for any hardware you can order in advance to have it delivered to the Pause gaming event with no delivery charge, and I'll also be selling a selection of our caffeinated beverages (http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/acatalog/LAN_Food.html) to help keep you awake for just a little bit more gaming.
I'll check back soon to see if you folks have any queries, but do feel free to get in touch directly if you want to know anything regarding our involvement with the LAN or otherwise. My email is graeme 'at' kustompcs.co.uk.
Thanks,
Graeme

Oh don't worry. I've been looking at the site. When I do build my new comp I know where to get all my shiny cables from. :-D

This is awesome, welcome Graeme. Sid I just have a question regarding selling stuff in the QM, don't they mind?

I'm not sure of the official policy and I brought this up at the last committee meeting regarding the idea of running a tuck shop. It's essentially no different to every other club who runs up there and does casual sales of food and drink. We had a tuckshop running all last LAN with no complaints.
It would perhaps be slightly more questionable if we had a full-blown shop up there. :)

Sweet. Cos there would be nothing worse than the soc getting into trouble over something as daft as food sales. For those for whom caffeinated drinks arent quite enough there will be a dodgy looking bloke outside the gents selling samtheeg weeth a leetle more kick to eet :P

Well I know GUGS has a fair few people selling things at their national event ConFlag so I don't think there should be a problem.

I've spoke to the secretary about this issue before, and there are no problems. Selling alcohol would be a different matter however.

obviously. You need a licence to sell alky.

I think it would probably be polite to not sell anything they already sell themselves.

Ah, that's a relief. Nearly fell over at the first hurdle there. :)
Thanks for the welcome, all !

I've been looking at the kit on offer at Kustom and have to say that the prices and selection is very good. I suspect that thier customer service will also be be better than we have had with other web retailers as Graeme himself will be attending LANs and not wanting to get lynched. So all round I can heartily welcome the addition. Hopefully I'll get a chance to build a computer or two from your selection of components.

I find this a great addition to the society, thx Graeme.
This will be great for me as i'm prob gonna buy a new keyboard (either a G15 or the new DiNovo Edge) and getting it delivered at the lan seems like a great idea.

I have bought probably 4-5 computers from Kustom since they opened in Ayr (it was just down the road from my secondary school). They're excellent (especially customer service).

We've got a display model of the G15 so if you drop me a line near the time I can bring it along if you want to give it a shot first.
Thanks all for your comments. :)

That'd be nice. It's somewhere on my list of 'shit I don't need to buy' just after Antec p180.

The P180 is the best case by a mile. He should know, he recommended it ;)
I would say the Antec nine hundred is a very good case too, even if it is a pimp-case.

pimp-case
That's true, you could stick a 4ft wide hat and a tiger print jacket and it wouldn't look like as much a pimp. :D
Just a reminder, guys - one week left to get any orders in.

Hey folks
Just a quick note to let you know I'll bring along some assorted caffeine beverages over the weekend - if you need any PC hardware or anything else fro our site delivered, order via www.kustompcs.co.uk and choose your location as 'Delivery at Pause Gaming LAN, Glasgow'. This will give you free delivery and allow you to pay by card (Worldpay) or in cash at the event (pick shop pickup as the payment method).
Thanks :)

Kustom ftw! None of this fucking around with Citylink - I paid for Recorded delivery, they said it would arrive on Friday and, when they didn't get it packed in time, they sent it Special Delivery for Saturday. Nice one, guys!

Might I suggest that you look at the Antec P182 instead, everyone else has one, Hell, I think a P series case should be an enforced standard for membership and the way things are going everyone can comply :)

I hope you're not going to repudiate the fact you're a trollman.
