Apparently these specs (http://forums.ocworkbench.com/bbs/showthread.php?p=405794#post405794) are a good indication of what ATI is planning for the R600 series.
If only ATI would actually release official specs soon;)

In all seriousness, ATIs new stuff looks like it's going to be quite hot. They won't release specs until the very last moment, ie when it's in PC world (or the week before).

Someone find an insider!

Found this (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radeon_R600) on wikipedia, gave a little extra info on the card, but still no release date, arghhh!

specs were released ages ago, I'll find the site again tomorrow.

Basically they have not changed the basic stratagy of 3:1 pixel to vertex shaders that the X1### series has. It will be about 20% faster than the equivilant Nvidia if we are to believe the engineering sample leaked in january.
