You'd be surprised. Generally, LAN participants are unfit, anti-social nerds. It's a shame the stereotype is really quite true.
Where are all the boys that play football? :(

I'm not anti-social, but I make up for it by being very unfit.

I'm 90% certain Goose (Stu Healey) will play. He loves fives. I also love fives but not in the winter, sorry.

hmmmm ...... if we get in the stevei's building or book the kelvin hall through the gym, it will cheap + it will be indoor ? would that attract more people ???
I think is around £6 pounds an hour or something ~~~~
GingerPrinz

I generally prefer outdoor but if we can't get 10 unless it's indoor then indoor is fine with me.

outdoor for the half time cigarette?
I'd prefer indoor in these winter months.
Sid
2nd December 2006, 16:48
outdoor for the half time cigarette?
I overheat playing football indoors, and I wasn't going to mention the half-time cigarette factor, but yeah...
YcMing
2nd December 2006, 18:17
well as i said, outdoor / indoor, i would play in either :) , i just thought might attract more people if it is indoor, obviously not the case ^^

Ill deffinately play.
I play fives semi regularly (yes im a fat guy, yes im VERY unfit... but yes I am also half brasilian) and we play up at the town-head pits. These are fives pitches that you pay to play on.
Except on saturday, and its always empty. The only problem as I type this at 3.53 is that its getting a dark pretty quickly, so I think we would be looking at starting at 11'ish on a saturday.
Also, Dave - you NEVER play fives anymore - dont try the old "not in the winter months banter" because
a) you dont play in the summer
b) the summer can be cold too
ive got just one word for you, and the rest of you naysayers who dont want to play....
caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaan
yeah?
caaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaamaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn

Nice one. 3 places remaining now. GingerPrinz: do you think you'll play or what about if it's indoors?
Oh also, what about the Glasgow Uni Garscube Complex? Anyone an SRS member? Know how much a pitch is? Actually, they might be 11-a-side pitches, I'm not sure. I'll give them an e-mail.
How much are the Townhead pitches. There's the Glasgow Green ones too and the ones at Scotstoun, if need be.
Strings
5th December 2006, 19:07
I'll play!
YcMing
6th December 2006, 00:12
Garscube Complex is 11 aside , but they usually split it in 3 to turn in to 6/7 aside ~~~~ , is quite big for 5s if u ask me..
GingerPrinz
6th December 2006, 16:53
Me = in my place
But I'm getting fit-ish again so who knows. I can't commit to a fives game right now, way too much on, sorry.
Ru

Sid
9th December 2006, 15:27
Well, we've just got 8 names so far - still need another 2. If we can get 2 quickly then we could think about doing this before Christmas. Failing that, I think we'll need to think about doing this in January.
Larry? Sideshow? Pixie? Phizz? Strings? Jan? Anyone?
Does no one like football or something?
If there's no one else from the club then I could try to get a few non-club folk, but I'd rather not.
YcMing
9th December 2006, 22:14

Righto :), seems like we may have got the ball rolling :).
Now indoor or out door ? out door iin garscube , is 6 or 7 aside, indoor kelvin hall is 5 aside. I'll got no idea how to book garcube (is that what's it called :P)?
Is sunday a good day to play , or any other time you would prefer ??

There are 5-aside pitches a few blocks NE of strathclyde Uni. Mitchell and Healey know where
Stakhanov
14th March 2007, 15:34
I'm interested in playing if there's any space. The free pitches north of the Uni are called Townhead Pits (I think). We used to play there a lot. Easy to find.
GingerPrinz
14th March 2007, 16:24
Yeah but they're only free on Saturday afternoons, and are otherwise pretty busy. To be honest I don't think I'm gonna be able to do this, I might make the odd game but couldn't commit to a weekly or fortnightly event.
Sid
14th March 2007, 16:25
I think it was just gonna be a one-off, Dave.

GingerPrinz

Sid
14th March 2007, 20:00
Cool, looks like we'll have more than enough folk. Someone wanna phone round a few of the places and book us in. Next Saturday maybe?
If we have more than 10 people we can just have rotating subs every 5 minutes or even just play 6-a-side etc.
Chesire Cat
14th March 2007, 21:50

If you guys fancy indoor, i can get it done for Saturday ( if there i slots), but i did see alot of complaining last time and either is fine by me.
