Hi,
I regret to inform that the Christmas LAN is a scrub. Due to the sheer number of events being held across the University these next two weeks both the QM and GU are booked up for the prospected date of the LAN. I have been running about trying to get a room sorted but there is just nothing left that will take us. This situation is mainly down to the fact that the Food Factory was not booked far enough in advance and on behalf of the committee I apologise. Future events are to be booked for the academic year rather than on a monthly basis. The dates for the LAN’s next year are to be booked this week. These will be in February, March and April 2007, dates to be confirmed soon. I’m sorry that PauseGaming can not offer a LAN in December.
Apologises,
Niall

Sadness, it would have been my last Pause LAN.

Aww, hamburgers!
This was the first LAN I could actually attend and now it's cancelled?
Now what am I going to do that weekend?:P

How about we do something else before Christmas just to get together, do something stupid and get steaming. The bowling was fun, we could do that again or something similar.

Niall, I take it from your message that there will also be no LAN in January?

Yeah, because of exams and such January shall be LAN free. I think a night out as Lewis suggests would be good though in the next few weeks.

Night out is always good. I concur for something along those lines.
Yes Pause lan is canceled. But hey, this is a forum of gamers with flats, without a doubt there will be a couple of mini-lan's thrown together. I will certainly be hosting one, on the 9th/10th or December. However, capacity is aprox 16-18 people. I had one in this flat about 4 months ago now, and there was some good gaming done, so pm me if your interested! Plus im sure the pixie may rustle a wee get together an all

As long as you gits actually come this time instead of sodding off. =P
If people are up for Bowling we can organise that with great ease, if we just want to do drinking (pub crawl from the west end to the centre of town or something?) that's probably just as easy.

I vote for 5-a-side football instead. Followed by the pub.

Is that the 18 holes thing (holes being different pubs) where the number of drinks per pint = score per 'hole'? Or is it to do with what you drink?

an 18 hole pub golf crawl is a bad idea, i suggest a quick 9

you ever done 18 hole pub golf? I've done it once in aberdeen, I managed to get to hole 15 with a 7 under. Passed out and fortunately my friends packed me in a taxi and sent me home. Fun, but not to be repeated.

I'm up for doing anything as long as the pub is visited at some point during the night.

Damn shame about the December LAN. Was really looking forward to it. Two months without a lan isn't great, but we'll all be looking forward to the lan in Feb.

If you're all pint drinkers then an all pint pub golf would be excellent. I had to mod the rules for a work night out to incorporate girls too girly to down a pint. Back 9 is probably more financially viable than a full 18...
