We shall let you know soon, I suspect the first or second week are what we'll be going for. Shall let you know a couple of days.

Great, I have to make this one after having had the "pleasure" of working those weekends as a senior resident.
Keep us informed :-)

any more news on the 3rd lan date?

[EDIT: Aaron wants the 1st week - he's working the 2nd week.]

Personally [although this obviously shouldn't be considered:P] I'd like the second week. As I get my copy of ArmA on the first. Shall have some lovely missions done/

Is anyone guaranteed getting a Wii on the 8th? Cos that could be reason in itself...

[EDIT]...to have the LAN after the Wii release.

I feel we need a little more notice before each of the LANs. This year I've had to beg with people to cover my shifts for the LANs because I didn't have enough notice to request them off. I don't think I'll be coming to this LAN anyway but I'm sure there must be other people who feel the same.

Aren't you officially a member of the commitee now Sid? If so I think you should smack some heads and get the rest to pull their fingers out. They've committed to the society and the members want a calender. I'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to set up.

Nah, I just offered to do the site. My name's just on that page so people know who to contact for site issues.

I understand that there's maybe problems getting the venue booked and stuff but I agree, a calendar of some kind would be better.

The problem seemed to be organising a committee meeting without Mr. Pixie just punching us all in the balls and screaming "BE THERE OR DIE!", he was rendered unable to perform this act by his computer issues.

Sounds like you'll have an official decision by the end of the week though.

The lans are the ENTIRE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE COMMITTEE.
Not having someone tell you to organise a committee meeting is a lame excuse. Come on, chaps. Self-organise.

Yay!
Like the man said above, we all really need advance notice. The more, the better.

How about organising event dates months in advance? Unless this is a problem..

A bit over-extravagant on the 1-2 weeks notice we normally get or few weeks that are being asked for here, but knowing dates a month or two in advance helps people build schedules around the LANs.

I'm aware of this, DAve, but the problem with organising a meeting is a very real one as on many of the days when others are free I'm busy and such, but I'm sure we'll try and get things organised more in advance now.

We have all this technology. Why not use it for the meetings? I'm sure it could be sorted out.

GingerPrinz

Well if Niall doesn't have a working computer then technology is obviously not the answer. How about the old fashioned speaking-ringing device you sometimes find plugged into walls? Or just have a set fortnightly/monthly meeting in the same place at the same time every month?

or weekly? Think the committee is probably gonna be meeting tomoro, and may even discuss this (what the hell else are they gonna talk about?), so hold onto your panties, peeps.

for those that dont know 3 out of 5 members actually live together. thats a casting vote if they are unanamous, regardless of the pixie or fyndir, at worst all niall needed to do was speak to his brother about what needed to be decieded and then it could have happened from there. Not impressed one bit.

Will you be able to make it more often if you had more notice, like if we could tell you before the December LAN when the February one will be?

Hey guys.

I'm very sorry about the lack of information about the next LAN. Due to situations out of my control, I've been a bit out of touch and have not been able to be on the forum/online nearly as much as usual.

However, I feel that it is necessary for me to bring some information to your attention. I have had a thread up in the committee forum for well over a week now in an attempt to setup a meeting. I also have contacted the committee in person and stressed the need for a meeting. Despite having very little time and limited access to the internet I have been on the site as much as once a day but got no responses. After resurrecting my machine last weekend I’ve been online and trying to contact them to no avail. I apologise on behalf of the committee for being so bloody useless (not Fyndir, he’s been a star) and I hope that a more sensible method for getting dates organized can be crafted at the next meeting.

Cheers,
Niall

Thanks for the update. Also means I'm not doing my PvP class in the middle of the LAN.

Quick quiz. Have you actually booked the room, ie the old smoking area in the food factory?

I ask only because iO have supposedly also booked, for the same saturday, the area for a Ceilidh.

Hmm, next time need to read all posts in forum, this question is already being discussed.
