View Full Version : Social Night Out

Thought I'd make this thread so everyone can discuss what they may like to do for a wee social event in the future.
We went bowling in the past, and I personally had a great time and would love to do it (or something similar) again.
Crap thing is, the last place we went to.. I think it's shut down now.
So I had an idea. A radical, extreme idea. And that idea would be mini golf.

There's student prices, and student discounts on food on Wednesdays. I've talked to a couple of people that have been to the place, and they say they had a great time.
The only draw back is that it's in Braehead somewhere.
So discuss, and feel free to throw in other ideas and suggestions. :)

How about Laserquest that’s always been something, I thought was a laugh, even though I play way to serious, lol, it’s, like being in a game, lol. good laugh, :)

Wasn't that where we went? The one that's within easy walking distance of me? (http://www.amfbowling.co.uk/Centres/details.aspx?centreID=6)
I'm sure I remember us all being there. =/
Also: Pausegaming Haloween Bowling. As long as the rest of you are wearing costumes of some sort you can all pitch in to dress me up as a troll. (which would make Ru piss himself with delight)

I second laser quest or bowling. I'll also add a poll.
Wait a minute, is the Glasgow laserquest still open? I've e-mailed laserquest to find out.

A social event is a great idea, I'd be up for that.
Don't mind where we go / when it is.

I've added a 'don't mind' option :)

Bowling, laser quest sucks, I have broken a kids nose before because I couldn't see him when I turned a corner. Mini golf is only good in sunny weater and a pint cocktail in your hand.
Having said that I'll pop along for all of the above.

LOL! Quality! I think this is another reason to do laserquest.
Although, I still haven't recieved an e-mail back about the Glasgow laserquest still being open.

The Glasgow laserquest shut down ages ago I thought.
I'm completely up for bowling rather than mini golf if someone works out where the nearest one is. I can't seem to come up with one.
Fyndir, I thought that one shut down buddy... But go and check if its still there... and if it is. Then bowling fo shure.

We could go swimming at Scotstoun, too :D
Actually I prefer the Playdrome at Clydebank. I change my vote to swimming.

Sid.
Gor.
I'm going to say this once and once only.
YOU SHALL NOT MAKE ME SWIM. >=(
Seriously, why would you even SUGGEST that?
Do you REALLY want to see me in nothing but a pair of shorts that are clinging to me because of the water?
gah
You people make me feel sick. >=(
Strings: I'm almost positive it is, I'll try giving them a call on Monday and see what they say though.

£38.30 exc. VAT per driver. Even with a discount it's not going to be affordable.
They also seem to run the laser-tag at clydebank, however. A 20-minute game is £3 for a non-profit organisation.
This could be us:

I think Bowling would be the best bet, actually. I change my vote.

An update!
The bowling we had been to near me IS still open, it's the one on the other side of me (across the river, in the Quay, where the casino is) that had shut down.
Joy and happiness!
Now someone go organise it, if we can get numbers and stuff we can book quite easily. =)

Oh thank god, the Zap Zone is dead.

Well I think bowling sounds like the best option then. Most people want to do it, and it was certainly a good laugh last time.
Seeing as the LAN isn't too far away, it may be a good idea to have this after the LAN. Probably instead of a QM night, seeing as that tends to be set aside anyways.
