If you check the latest performance figures you'll see that there is no benchmark where the AMD has a significant lead and in most cases is absoloutly trounced by the Intel Core 2 Duo. Price performance the Core 2 Duo owns all AMD and I am as shocked about that as you are.

Pitt, you not getting a monitor?

YegaDoyai
24th September 2006, 16:25
The only reason to hate Intel was that they hiked thier prices due to thier market majority, since the days of the first Athlon Intel has had to cut back on it's margins until, now, finnaly we have the Core 2 Duo. There is not other reason to hate Intel anymore than AMD they both rape the earth for minerals and neither have shown a willingness to support the lowest of the low mineral miners in Africa etc.

Monitor to follow, I think (Unless Dave wants to trade back...), but I have all that in low quality stuff that will do in the meantime.

Have had to go for different power, due to Sizerestrictions. The modular Stuff was going to be fine right?

YegaDoyai

should be, what power rating did you go for in the end?

Right, they are delivering to my parents house tomorrow, I'm picking it up on Sunday night.

This means late on sunday night I will break all the parts trying to hammer them into something mildly computer shaped :D

TK-Maximus

Sure. Heck, I could even bring it round to yours if you'd rather (You probably have lick screwdrivers and stuff that I don't).

It has occured to me that we have no means of installing an OS though.

Still, trying to use a computer without a CD/DVD Drive seems a mite foolish.

Never! I've not used a CD/DVD drive for years other than installing Windows every so often - and even then I could do it without the CD, just use it for convenience.

No optical drives FTW.

if the last game you ever buy is from Bullfrog then, frankly, you have the best taste in the world.

Oh, Pitt, the maison du Pixie and Yega welcomes all component based PCs in thier prior to assembly stage with far too much glee.
