Hi all,

I've been contacted by the Bristol Computer Gaming society (CoGs) (http://bits.bris.ac.uk/pixelm/cogs/), they want to know if we would be up for some online action.
Hi, I've recently become president of the Bristol Computer Gaming Society, and in the last week I've cobbled together an online challenge against Bath University Network Computer Society, and I've been wondering if having a collection of universities playing against each other over the internet could be arranged.

I googled away some revision time and came up with your email address, and was wondering if you'd be interested in some weekly gaming?

If you could get back to me with your thoughts, I'd appreciate it.

I've sent him a reply, saying we might be able to get a team together, and asking him what games they had in mind.

What games are you lot interested in?

Aye, sounds good. Im sure getting a team for CS, BF2 and DoW wouldn't be a problem. :) Maybe even LFS? We should get them to post on the forum and stuff, see what they want to do.

I've just recieved a reply saying they have contacted 11 teams, 3 have replied with a "yes" so far.

He was thinking about UT2004, but also wanting to get a ladder organised, and a "joint gaming society".
At the moment, COGs is mainly playing ut2004, since it's the easiest game to get going online. Enough people have cs:s that we could probly play that as well, but my aim is to try and organise a kind of joint gaming society. That way, if there aren't enough members in any one particular society to play a decent sized game, they can look for extra players from societies other than their own. If there are enough universities I think it'd be great to have some sort of league tables arranged, with set weekly matches played. So far you are the third person I've heard back from and the third positive responce. Once I've heard back from most of the other 11, we'll see what can be arranged.

I'd happily play UT2004 despite it rarely getting played.

UT2k4 sounds good. We can sometimes work well as a team. As long as pit ain't on our team we should do fine. There is a reason he is known as TK-MAX :D
