OK, at some future lan we are going to have a day long ironman tournament. This will consist of everyone playing in multiple events (i.e. games) throughout the day. A scoring system will be implemented so each game has an equal weighting. Each event should be about an hour long. I figure the following categories work:

2 Deathmatch FPS
2 RTS
2 Team FPS
2 Misc (probably 1 driving sim and 1 beatem-up)

Easiest way to decide on what games get played is to vote on it. The polling system in the forums isn't advanced enough to handle multiple selections like this, so just post your votes in this thread. My votes follow*, as an example.

* I didn't choose BF2 because I don't think we can make a scoring system work with it. For example, take CS: We can divide players into teams of 3/4/5 (depending on numbers), and at the end award each player points = team win + ((kills-deaths)/10). With BF2 we'd be dividing the players into two teams, so this wouldn't really work.

EDIT: As Yega says, beatempups are arcade machine and console territory. I have a PS2 and a Gamecube, so feel free to pick a title for those platforms.

EDIT: Please only post votes here. There's an Ironman Talk (http://guns.snakebomb.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=386) thread for discussion.

EDIT: TWO votes per section, 4 sections!

Can we get a scoring system that doesn't depend on the points spread? I think including the points would unfairly unbalance the outcomes, especially if one team scores massively more in CS, for example. Grand prix scoring? 10 for first, 8 for second etc.
