Weekly hotlap

I figured that one way to get some folk more interested in LFS (www.liveforspeed.net) might be a weekly hotlap competition. Upload your hotlap here if you don't have an S2 license. I don't expect much interest but post your time here when you've uploaded a lap you are happy with. Submissions before 9pm GMT each Sunday. I will try and upload a setup before each deadline.

Start with the demo track and demo cars:

After this I would look to move to licenced cars and tracks. If there is significant non licensed input I'd look at awarding a license to the fastest non licensed racer.

Thanks to some forum digging I found the following times set during the last championship:

XFG
GP: 1:35:80
Rally: 1:13:16
Rally Rev: 1:15:18

So don't feel too bad if your first attempts are nowhere near the WR!!!

Hotlap files are saved in the SPR directory, saved with the same name structure as my files automagicly.

oh was analizingzozrz my rally lap, and it looked prity good, i cock up the first hairpin every time but if u synced my lap with the worldrecord jst after that hair pin its prity neck n neck so im happy.

Saying that my steering graph is funny as fuck, jst spikes all over the shop, i guess with my controler its half an inch from lock to lock so i guess sharp spikes are to be expected.

Edit: my laps are pretty poor so far (lack of practice really).

Best so far is a 1.40 on XFG. Will try and post a hotlap this weekend.

So the first week is over and the results are:
Me @ 1:35.450
Barney @ 1:36.07
DAve @ 1:39.810

LFS has an inbuilt benchmark that is 105% of the current WR and the differences here are:
Me - 99.71%
Barney - 100.36%
DAve - 104.26%

So for next week I want to see you at least maintain your benchmark difference. Server is running that car/track combo from the end of today.

Late and with no replay (managed to loose the replay file somehow) but I did a 1:39.99 which is still pish but I can't even get that fast again. :(

Actually I got a 1:39.06 once I found the server Peter put up just now.

What's your user name in LFS so I can verify that? The server was playing silly buggers last night while I was trying to configure the database to store lap times etc.

Hopefully I can add some more stuff to automate keeping track of distance to WR etc I should also be able to get all the setups uploaded to the server and then you can grab them off it when you join.

Due to a clerical error it appears that the Demo users do not have access to the reverse variants. As such this week is a mix of the normal track with either car. See if you can improve your time. Next week will be the RallyX!

Server is back, about 1 week downtime but you get what you pay for I guess...

Anyway this week is the XFG on the rallyX current times:
Me: 1:10.130
Barney: 1:10.410
Mark: 1:10.460
Iain: 1:11.920
DAve: 1:18.600
Aaron: 1:13.950
Niall: 1:12.010

If we ignore DAves time then I think it would be pretty easy to balance for a decent race. Barney and I run max ballast with a 50:50 distribution, Iain and Mark run 150kg (40kg less than max) on a 60:40 f/r split. Niall if he gets his act together probably on max ballast too. We would all be running about 1:13s then.
