LAN?

Can somebody tell me what kind of lans do u guys have. Is it just for fun or will it be some kind of competition? and can u rent pc's or bring ur own? sorry im not from here so i dont know how the lans here work. Can somebody tell me pls.

There has been talk of competitions, but I don't know if they'll make an appearance in future (the last one didn't work very well, but it was a first attempt). Games most likely to be played are: Counter-Strike (1.6 and Source), Battlefield 2 and various Unreal flavours. Starcraft is quite likely, and I have a feeling Dawn of War may make an impact at the next event.
We don't have any PC's to rent (or even loan); you'd need to bring your own (or borrow a friends).

The next event is in a few weeks - the first weekend in December. People turn up on Saturday morning to set up. We should start playing in the afternoon, and it lasts until Sunday evening.

I might need to borrow a comp from someone unless someone can help me set up my entire set of Windows based games to run in Linux. (Kicks compo and it's dead HDD)
