Apparently my processor and graphics card aren't good enough for lost coast. ='(

Eh? Can you not just download it anyway and deal with the 3fps?

What specs do you have, BTW?

Well I could, but given that my current graphics card is Turbocache and leeches memory from my RAM instead of having it's own, and that I only have 1GB of RAM, the game would just crash.

My specs are:

AMD 64-bit 3400+
1GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce 6200 TurboCache
Integrated sound
250GB Hard Drive.
DVD/CD ROM
DVD/CD RW (the joy of two drives and a fast processor? stick in two music CDs that you want backups of and leave them both ripping at the same time without errors. =P)
Lots of USB2.0 ports ( I think it's 6 or so, but I also have a USB Hub)
1 spare PCI slot which can't really be used since it's almost impossible to fit anything into.

Came prebuilt from PC World for £640, yes it's negative geek points for having a prebuilt, yes it's negative cool points for having a Compaq..but you find me all those parts and a nice case for them and someone to put it all together for me for that price or less and I'll punch myself in the side of the head. =)

The graphics card runs most games decently, such as HL2, CS:S, CS, BF2, WoW..but the turbocache is shite technology and I'm looking into scrounging a new grahpics card (nice BFG one someone from this board recommended) for my Christmas. =D

Gordon Frohman explains why HDR is a good technology.</a>

Link to a HL comic, BTW.

Well as long as you play Lost Coast as a lighting demonstration and not a level you are fine. It literally took me 1 minute to complete.

HDR is wonderful though, real real nice like :)

Favourite bit is when your in the church and the helichopter smashes the windows and you get blinded by the sun.

I always imagined the headcrab cannon as like the railgun in Enemy Territory, instead, it turns out to be akin to an OAP stairlift. :(

Just finished it there, took all of 10 mins (most of that was spent takin screenshots!) looks very pretty, just wish it lasted a bit longer! Has wetted my appetite for aftermath tho, whenever it arrives! Also makes me feel a bit better about buying a £300 graphics card a few months ago! (credit cards are wonderful!) Like the fact that the surroundings are reflected on the gun your holding, pretty cool! The commentary is interesting asawell.

Just finished playing it on my lovely new geforce 6800. Even so my machine ONLY JUST met the recommended reqs... athlon 64 3200+, 1gig RAM. Shame it was so short.. I kind of expected at least an hour of gameplay. It took less than 20mins.

As for the lighting.. holy crap. Best realism in any FPS Ive seen so far! I like the way it auto-adjusts the contrast between the bright and dark scenes, just like the way your eyes do!!!

Shame I cant run it on my laptop that I take to LANs, even just to show off
