Hi all, with the 1st LAN looking great already - 20-25 people in a LAN is always fun - I thought I would remind you all of a few last-minute things.
Important things:
Have a good time!
Dave's phone number: 07812 698 577
Location: Williams room of the John McIntyre building (SRC building). In between the iron gate and the guard hut on University Avenue
Time: 10am on Saturday to 10pm on Sunday
What you need:
A computer (obviously)
A monitor - 19"max, preferably TFT
A network card RJ45 (cat5) compatible. Also known as Ethernet card.
Headphones - Leave your speakers at home
4-bar power lead
Game CD's
Mouse and Keyboard - NOT wireless.
The usual power cables & monitor leads that you usually use to connect your computer together.
Windows / other Operating System Install CDs, Driver CD for your Network Card & Video Card
Network Cable - If you've got your own, bring it. If not, we can sell you some.
Stickers for your equipment. Mark your own stuff beforehand - equipment always gets mixed up.
Money (for snacks & food). You'll get hungry halfway through - trust us!
Anything else- Use your common sense please! If in doubt, please contact us beforehand.
What can't I bring to the LAN?
Anything that operates on a wireless band. Wireless mice, wireless keyboards, wireless LAN cards are all unacceptable.
Warez - We're a LAN gaming club, not a file sharing club.
Speakers - Headphones only please.
Attitude - we're going to the LAN for a good time, please try to be fluffy.
Cheating devices. Anyone who blatantly cheats will be asked to leave.
One final thing, please update your games as much as possible and bring the patch files with you. Games nowadays only seem to work if they're running the same version :)
See you on Saturday!
