Hi there,
Mr.NoobFresher here, Im here with my laptop (1.6GHz Turion, 512MB, X700 128MB) which is good enough for games etc. but problem is I only really have Steam games. Dont really have any other games (legit anyhoo) that would prolly work for multiplayer. Any of your members in the same situation, or do you all own piles of games? I do have Zero Hour and almost every other C&C and a few others, but Id have to fish em out again at home.
Strapped for cash too, so cant really go out and buy any more. how do your LANs work; do you all play the same game at the same time, or do you just free for all ie.join what ever game you want?
Anyhoo, just wonderin if my limited collection of games is worthwhile enough to come to a LAN session.
Let me know, cheers.

Come one, come all.
Your machine is more than capable so don't worry. All are welcomed with loving boomsticks.
:)
(Fluffy enough DAve?)
EDIT:-
Sorry I should have mentioned I have a Sempron 2800 and X700 pro. So your machine is def ok (can we overclock??) Mine can clock to 2.6Ghz and the X700 goes to 500/520.

Cool, hmmmm overclockin may be a bad idea. I already get a slow down after 20 mins playin CS:S and then every 5 mins it has to cool itself off
I need a better cooling solution for my laptop, tis a pain in the rear to play at 10fps every 5 mins for about 20 seconds. :(
Anyhoo, won't make it to the first LAN, but will see about later ones definately.
P.S. I do have Painkiller too, tho not really explored it multiplayer, anyone play multiplayer painkiller?

Yes, fluffy enough :)
We do have several free games that can be easily played at the LAN. Enemy territory, for one, and hidden and dangerous (just downloading now).
All good quality games that are both fun and inexpensive.
Most of the games we do play can be picked up online for under £10 if you know where to look. Some of them can even be downloaded.
Half-life is a must though, as it is the route to CS and other mods that are frequently played.

If you have a wireless card or an ethernet cable we can organise something at my place, just tap into my Router and get steam sorted out.

It's about a 50/50 split. Some people have TFTs, others have CRTs.

Although if you check ebuyer they've got a special deal on TFT's at the moment. 17" for 99.99!

TFT's are much easier to transport and also they'll help make more space at the LANs. If you don't like em just use one for LANs.

Sexier as well. Which is all you should really be looking for in a monitor.

Actually I prefer to look for better resolutions, refresh rates etc along with the fact that I nabbed this CRT off of my dad when I got this computer and it was therefore free.
So screw buying a TFT, maybe I will just for the LANs once I get a job, k? =)
k.
There shall be no arguments, or I'll go all Hulk.

Entirely possible, but given the lack of smileys or anything which would usually denote sarcasm through the internet I felt it reasonable to answer as if he was being serious.
It's pretty much impossible to tell unless you know someone, and currently I don't know much about any of you. =)
