Right, just got some birthday money and was told to spend it on something fun - so upgrade sprang to mind.

Current spec is:

ASUS A8n-SLI Premium
AMD x2 3800
1GB OCZ DDR 400 Premium
XFX 7600GT XXX
250GB WD Caviar + 250GB External Seagate
Hiper 580W-R

I've got a coupla hundred to spend and I reckon the best upgrade at the moment would be something like the 8800GTS 320MB http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/125117 It's around 200 and should provide a pretty noticable difference in performance. Heopefully it'll be useful for a good few years? (I deliberately went midrange when I built this thing as DX 10 was so close so I didn't spend tonnes on a 7900 when I could get an 8800 a few months later)

(I'm planning an overhaul of MB CPU RAM next year or so - comp is only 7 months old)

What do you guys reckon?

I would eco with that.

Give it another few months so you can get a couple of hundred more to completely overhaul your system with better stuff later on.

Your system just now isn't that bad - personally i would hold off.
