Hey guys,

The gallery has been up for awhile now and is pretty much complete. There is a link to it on the front page now and you are all invited to start posting your photos. If you have photos to upload that don't relate to any of the category's listed then post here and we'll sort it out. Enjoy.

Comments don't work at the moment but the gallery on the whole should be okay. The form based upload should be sufficient for casual uploaders but if anyone's got a large number of photos they want to upload I can arrange an FTP account for bulk uploading.

Did any of you guys get any other Piratey screen shots?

Octavion

I just uploaded a bunch of screen-shots from my pre-release adventures in Middle-Earth aka Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows of Angmar. They're very pretty.

Indeed, they are pretty. But it is an MMO, teh 3vil!!!11!1!!!

Strings

I'm being objective as I can here.

Nearly everyone that I've talked to who has played LOTR:O has pretty much said its just a copy of WoW. Yes mildly different graphics, setting.. etc etc etc. But they say it certainly doesn't break any new ground.

Fortunately this also means that the game does have that same fun element that WoW does (if you like WoW).

oh if people are posting from MMOs here come my EVE shots. Please remeber my comp does not truely express the gorgeousness of gfx.

Surely your comp can display as gorgeously as any other - it's not like FPS matter...

Thats a property of all but the absolute worst MMOs. Lets face it, even less played titles like Phantasy Star Online and the old Ultima MMOs were ridiculously addictive, its just that the user base was smaller. WoW has merely brought this to everyone's attention by accomplishing to have half the planet playing it.....

CaNNoN_FoDDa
23rd April 2007, 22:59
But their member figures are exaggerated because they count every character (not just active accounts) so they include alts, trial users and inactive accounts. So not half the world. Probably more like 1 million peeps.

Phizz
24th April 2007, 08:34
Eve tends to go off how many people can be logged on to the server. Highest has been 30,000 people at once ( yes on a single shard). I think the estimate of people in total is in the region of 250,000. Tis very possible.

GingerPrinz
24th April 2007, 14:23
I think WoW brought it to people's attention when folk started dying playing WoW...

Hex

I seem to remember similar stories regarding Everquest a few years back tbh. I maintain that MMOs are in fact a social evil tbh, addictive to the scale of the hardest drugs. In the same way that crack addicts will do anything to get their fix, hardcore MMO addicts neglect everything in order to play their game. We've all heard the stories of families destroyed by MMO addiction, and I genuinely think that its a bit of a problem....having said that, I'm also firmly of the opinion that people deserve personal freedom, so if they want to sit around playing WoW, or for that matter smoking crack, they have the right to do so. Stupid though it may seem, I will defend people's rights to personal freedom even if I completely disagree with what they're doing....so yeah anyway, MMOs, t3h 3v!L, d0 n0t b3c0m3 t3h aDDic+, or j00 \/\/1|_|_ 3nD |_|p t3h z0/\/\b13!!!! nuff sed ^^

If Everquest 2 was anything to go by, then by gods yes. It will suck up every moment of your time and every fragment of your concentration, even if you only end up making a 4-slot strongbox to store stuff that weighs 120kg after 3 hour's work (including mainly running around collecting raw materials. fucking tin cluster)

Fil2eFly

It’s weird for some reason I sometimes like to play "grinding" MMO's.

My gaming habits when it comes to mmo's are:,
find a mmo that looks good, by my self or with a few other people, then i play the mmo good and hard,

if im on holiday which is usually when i start playing then i will play from when i get up 12-1pm until i sleep, 2-5am i will do this for a maximum of 2 weeks. by this time my character is moderately uber has cool armour and pwns n00bs,, then i get bored and tend never to play that game again,

and i wont play another mmo for a good few weeks if not months,

there is one mmo of you can call it that witch iv played quite along time "face of mankind" it not grinding so its not so bad, but my habits are not so,, extreme with this game..

So far this year iv only spammed one mmo and that was knight online,, may play another one on the summer not sure

Hex
25th April 2007, 16:17
What the hell is wrong with you? The whole point of the summer holidays is to spend your time sitting in the sunshine getting drunk, not playing godawful MMOs! If you were gonna play them anytime you should at least binge in the winter lol

Phizz
25th April 2007, 20:00
Way way off topic here. Don't have any kind of thing to alter the fact so...

I spose it depends on when you can get a hold of people. Good thing about MMOs is that there is always someone you know around. Can be a little more difficult to get a hold of real peeps.

Fyndir
25th April 2007, 20:06

Fail. >=(

Sunshine makes me too hot, and hurts my eyes.

The warming glow of a computer is far more natural, plus I can be naked and no-one objects.

Lol yeah I'd say thats acceptable behaviour too ^^ Man I really want one of those longboards you see people using in the park, they totally cruise! Put on some shades and a surfer hat, spliff in mouth and board under feet lol. Here we could do another dress up, but as hippies rather than gangsters lol

No settings have been changed. I assume something related to the server move has caused this?

Try it now, actually.

hmmm, still no joy. When I try and do the mass user upload, it just brings up a blank screen, progress bar says done. Does the same thing when trying to upload one image at a time. Odd indeed.

All of the LAN photos have been uploaded now, going to do the screenshots later on.

LAN's 1 to 5 during 2005/2006 (http://www.pausegaming.com/gallery/) have been added.
