everybody over 20 has to remember the name "Commodore" for the C64 etc.

They've recently been talking about coming back into the PC market (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/6453339.stm), with pimped-up cases with the latest hardware. £1000-5000 apiece, I can't see them doing very well. Again.
The cases look shiney though.

specs: Dual/Quad processors, 4Gb ram, sli/crossfire, due for a release in April. More specs on the C website (http://www.commodoregaming.com/pcshop/Home.aspx).

Oh, and for the oldies, it comes pre-loaded with a C64 emlulator and 50 games.

more Pics here. (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/in_pictures/6454113.stm)

I can see them doing ok, I'm sure it will keep their heads above water at the least with the emulator gimmick and the fairly high specced comps. After all people buy Alienware still.

People buy Alienware becuase they invented the term 'decent prebuilt' they worked really hard establishing a brand identity and at least in the states seem to have done well. Commadore have never really been known for creating good high end kit. The C64 was not high end. It was mass produced consumer level crap, just like all the other 'home' machines of it's era. A nostalga purchase is fine when you are spending say £10 but I'd never buy a £1500 machine from a company with no history building decent PCs. I might be interested in a case though. The black one is tasty and the Commadore stylings are kinda nice.

+1. Would be nice to see the inside first, though.
