So iv decided to finally get a decent headset for gaming/LAN etc. Iv seen lots of good stuff written about the Speedlink Medusa SL 5.1 and was thinking about them. Just wondering if anyones got any advice / recommendations?
Also can anyone tell any difference between the standard SL's and the 'Pro Gamer edition' so far iv got:
- about £10
- a bag
- (possibly) only the Pro ed. is usb powered, the regular needs a plug
Thanks guys,
Michael

Think (apart from the bag) the progamer (http://www.speed-link.de/prod.php?lang=en&sys_id=8&pb_id=8&prod_num=SL-8793) has 5.1 audio jacks and usb (and integrated amp), whereas the USB edition (http://www.speed-link.de/prod.php?lang=en&sys_id=8&pb_id=8&prod_num=SL-8794) only has usb (and has an integrated sound card). Not sure about the others.
If you're paying that kind of money, get the Sennheiser 555s and be done with it:

If you need a microphone, buy a microphone.

I was meaning between the SL8790 (http://www.speed-link.de/prod.php?lang=en&sys_id=8&pb_id=8&prod_num=SL-8790&mediumimage=sl-8790_1.jpg) (standard) and the SL8793 (http://www.speed-link.de/prod.php?lang=en&sys_id=8&pb_id=8&prod_num=SL-8793) (ProGamer). They both have the audio jacks but thers an amplifier box on the 8790

here's (http://www.gc-plus.de/bin/sl-8790/medusa%20features.pdf) a specification sheet for the whole family, i think the standard has support for two headsets (ie two can plug into the amp) and the progamer doesnt have 5.1 passthrough (which i think means that the progamer edition requires a 5.1 surround soundcard, but the standard has one built in - presumably shit).
The progamer manual is here (http://www.gc-plus.de/bin/sl-8793_manual_vers2.pdf)
The standard has a manual in this list (http://www.speed-link.de/support.php?lang=en&view=1&sys_id=8&pb_id=8&prod_num=SL-8790), but it's a zip so i can't open it at work
